Smoking, alcohol and drugs can have serious consequences for the health of your baby. Your baby may, for example, have deformities or low birth weight. The effects of smoking, alcohol and drugs can continue long after you stop using them. It is therefore best to stop before you get pregnant and certainly once you are pregnant. This is not always easy, and there are several organizations that can help you.
